issued forth upon creation,

encompassing the enemy.

A thick gloom swiftly settled upon the Pandava hosts.

All points of the compass were lost in darkness.

Fierce wind began to blow

Clouds roared upward,

showering dust and gravel.

Birds croaked madly…

the very elements seemed disturbed.

The sun seemed to waver in the heavens

The Earth shook,

scorched by the terrible violent heat of this weapon».

There is yet another fragment of the ancient Indian Epic of Mahabharata, telling about an unsuccessful experiment with a «serpent», which was carried out in summer of 3005 B.C., i.e. around 5 thousand years ago:

«Having heard that sound, councilors ran away. In great grief, they saw an amazing serpent rushing through the air and living behind a white strip like hair parting. In fear, they left the palace full of fire born from the [flying] serpent’s venom, and ran aside. It collapsed as if hit by lightning».

Galava, one of the wisest ancient people, described his flight in the «godlike bird». He mentioned, that the body of this bird, when moving, looks covered with shining, as if it were the sun with thousand of rays during sunrise. The wise man ears are stricken with a roar of the greatest wind, and that he did not feel his body (weightlessness in space), without seeing or hearing a thing. Galava was amazed, because the Sun, the sides, the space were all unseen, he only saw darkness and did not recognize anything but the flame from the bird’s body!

Arjuna, another epic hero, described how he took off in an amazing artificial chariot to fly where neither sun, nor fire, nor moon were shining, and where stars illuminated their own light.

Homer also mentioned people living beyond Polar circle, where the Sun rises once a year, which were able to fly in those amazing air vehicles. Many other Greek authors wrote about people knowing the secret of flying in the air.

Very often in Mahabharata texts, we see the information that should have been certainly unknown for our ancient ancestors. Sounds fantastic, yet counting the time of the ancient epic writings starts with the period called «the first manvatara», associated with 2 billion years ago!

For example, regarding the so-called «Milky sea», that appeared as result of «Celestial Milk stream» falling on Earth, the epic tales specify the event took place 1.986 billion years ago, according to Mahabharata chronology. What is interesting, the author of the Mahabharata text reports about this fact, as about the real event that took place during his life. Therefore, there is a question: could the human civilization really exist so long ago?

However, recent findings in archeology allow considering those old time events in new light. For example, Y.I. Zelenski (Gabon. M., Nauka, 1997) in his article reports that in 1972, in the village of Oklo, Gabon, found in the bulk of uranium ore was a graphite rod, exactly the same like those used in today’s nuclear reactor working with uranium–235. French nuclear experts concluded that the nuclear reactor, which used this particular graphite rod, stopped operating around 1.7 billion years ago, in the end of the Middle Proterozoic age.

Robert Temple wrote in his book «Sirius Mystery»:

«For beyond the fact that a culture contact between ourselves and an alien civilization from outer space may have taken place, of which we may find some evidence from our own ancient cultures, we may discover that the ancient world, the further back one goes in time, tends to develop a more and more odd flavor.»

Then Robert Temple continues:

«We mistakenly assume that because we have superlative technology and science we must also be extremely civilized and come from a subtle background of sophisticated thinkers. But this is all a base illusion. In fact, we are on a low rung of the ladder of evolutionary intelligence, and in many ways (such as ethics and aspirations to excellence) we have gone back- ward since those early mutants in our paltry intellectual history on this planet, Confucius, Socrates, the Buddha, and the others of whom every reader may substitute his own favorites».
