Catuḥṣaṣṭi-yoginī Nāmārcana is the worship by name of the sixty-four yoginīs: ten thousand eight hundred names composed by Maharṣi Viṣṇu. Each name is given as a ready formula of offering in three layers: Devanāgarī, IAST transliteration and meaning. The book is arranged as a year-long circle of home pūjā: thirty names a day for three hundred and sixty days. The circle runs from the outer enclosure to the inner, eight enclosures of eight yoginīs; each yoginī has five days and a hundred and fifty names of her own, and on the days of the gates all sixty-four are worshipped as one power. The Mother, Śrī Dhūmāvatī, opens and closes the circle. The editors plain instructions cover the altar and the yantra, the offering of the vartikā, reading in a whisper, the order of the pūjā, and the beginning and completion of the circle.
